8:30 AM – Depart from Muscat to Nakhal

Start your day with a drive from Muscat to Nakhal, about an hour’s journey.

9:30 AM – Nakhal Fort

Begin your tour at Nakhal Fort, a well-preserved fort with a history dating back to pre-Islamic times. Explore its towers, rooms, and stairways while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding date palm groves and mountains.

10:30 AM – Nakhal Hot Springs

After visiting the fort, head to the nearby Nakhal Hot Springs, where you can dip your feet in the warm, natural waters or simply relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

11:30 AM – Drive to Rustaq

Leave Nakhal and drive to Rustaq, which takes about 30 minutes. Rustaq is known for its impressive fort and hot springs.

12:00 PM – Rustaq Fort

Visit Rustaq Fort, one of the oldest and largest forts in Oman. The fort has numerous towers and chambers, as well as interesting historical artifacts. Spend time exploring the fort and learning about its significance in Omani history.

1:30 PM – Lunch Break

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Rustaq, where you can sample traditional Omani dishes, or have a picnic in a scenic spot near the fort.

2:15 PM – Al Kasfah Hot Springs

Visit Al Kasfah Hot Springs in Rustaq, known for its therapeutic warm waters that emerge naturally from the ground. The springs are a popular relaxation spot for both locals and tourists.

3:00 PM – Additional Exploration or Scenic Stops

If time permits, explore some of the surrounding date palm plantations or take in more of the scenic mountain views in the Rustaq area.

3:00 PM – Depart Back to Muscat

Start the journey back to Muscat, enjoying the drive through Oman’s rugged landscapes.
